Rooing Day 2010

Anna

Rooing is the process of removing the fleece from the sheep by hand plucking the wool.
It does not hurt the sheep.

Pam, I wanted to say thanks again for the wonderful conversation we had yesterday at Salomon Farm Fiber Fair. We talked about Greene County, adult education, and living our dreams. As my husband and I look towards moving to southern Indiana, we’ll keep in mind the good advice you shared — living outside of Monroe County, as some of the more rural places.

Last evening, I spent a couple of relaxed hours needle felting, and made a covered soap (a goats milk bar I bought yesterday at the fair). I’m anxious to use it, and see how the wool felts up around the bar. It’s such fun to talk with you and others there — you share such great inspiration!

Travel safely, stay well, and keep living that dream!

Hi Marje,

It was nice to meet you this weekend. Let me know when you plan to visit so I am sure I will be home. I can’t wait to talk with you more about the adult ed ideas.

Pam
